Worship

OUR WEEKEND WORSHIP SERVICES
Saturday Night Folk Service
Folk - 6:30 p.m. - Sanctuary
Communion the 2nd and 4th Saturdays each month.
A Lutheran order of worship, but informal in nature. Folk and Gospel music by a band of acoustic guitars, bass, drums, piano, keyboard, and violins, led by a vocal team. Special music by the Saturday Night Choir. Dress is casual. While the texts read and the sermon preached are identical to our Sunday worship services, the atmosphere is quite different. Worship begins at 6:30 p.m., however we gather to sing at 6:20 p.m. and the musicians practice beginning at 6:05 p.m. You are welcome to come as early as you like to prepare for worship.
Occasionally, we move from a Southern Gospel format to blue grass. It used to be every fifth Saturday but the fifth Saturday kept falling on the Saturday after Christmas (Silent Night on the banjo?) or close to the fourth of July (The Star Spangled Banner on the mandolin?) so now we simply do it periodically, when the blue grass musicians are available.
