Do you remember Pastor Jeff’s BUTTERFLY SERMON last Rally Day in Praise Worship? The lady, Michelle Denny, who provided all those butterflies, is now starting up a new ministry in our church called: “SERVANTS OF THE MONARCH.” This group will be doing some excursions in the next month during the Monarch Butterfly’s active season around here.

On Sunday, July 25, we met out at the Byers Woods at 1 p.m. for a picnic. Each family received a chrysalis. There was also milkweed, butterfly eggs, & some butterfly coloring books for the kids. Out there in God’s Big Outdoors, we took a little hike & learned how to look for where Monarchs live their lives here in Ohio (see photos).

Our Second outing will take place on August 8, at 1 pm., at the Waste Plant on Rt. 42. There is a TON of milkweed there. The group will look for eggs & Michelle will try to have a caterpillar there for families who have already released the butterfly that hatched from their chrysalis.

The third meeting will take place on August 22, again at the Byers Woods, at 1 p.m. (unless Michelle finds a new place to go). These will be wonderful educational opportunities for families. Bring a picnic! Come to one or all!
