7th-12th Grade Youth Ministries

Medical Release Form (Necessary for Youth Activities)
In 1 Timothy 4:12, the Apostle Paul writes, "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for all believers." At Trinity, we believe that young people should be a vital and active part of the church. Our goal is to meet students where they are in life and to help them know Christ and grow in their love for God and the people around them!
At Trinity, we offer separate ministries for middle and high school youth. All activities are designed with a purpose in mind, namely one of the following: worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, and outreach. We recognize God's initiation of faith through baptism and seek to provide an environment in which our youth will confirm their faith as they become actively committed disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Take Note!
Sunday School – Each fall around Labor Day, Trinity kicks off the new Sunday school year with a church-wide celebration called “Rally Day.” We offer classes for both Jr. and Sr. High youth. They meet in the Youth Area (under Jack’s Place) from 9:30–10:30am on Sunday mornings with the purpose of engaging in relational, relevant, and real-life issues that help us all get to know Christ!
The ‘Ship – Our Sunday evening youth gathering for High Schoolers is all about wor’ship, fellow’ship, disciple’ship, servant’ship (we made that word up) and friend’ship. We normally meet from 6:00–8:00pm in the high school youth room. We offer a wide range of opportunities such as Bible studies, DVD series, Café 508 (a coffee house worship night), lots of service opportunities, group building activities, seasonal parties, gym & game nights, and more. Throughout the year we also offer many special events like a lock-in, a ski trip, music concerts, Dare 2 Share, Acquire the Fire, ELCA Youth Gatherings, inner city and rural mission trips, and more!
Catechism – Each year begins in September with and orientation meeting and an overnight fall retreat. We then have 7 Sunday Catechism sessions, which take place on the 2nd Sunday of each month (Oct.-Apr.) from 4:00 - 8:00pm. The sessions are times of experiential learning and include small and large group times, crafts, skits, active learning stations, multi-media, time with the Pastors, and a meal. Our TLC Youth Ministry Team also provides other opportunities for middle schoolers to grow in faith: rake ‘n run, visiting nursing homes, spring break service, fair day, bonfires, retreats, gym/game nights, a Super Bowl party, laser tag, canoeing, and more.
D-Groups – This is all about discipleship for 7th – 12th graders! It’s small groups; it’s depth of commitment; and it’s getting training in the way of the cross! Currently, we have multiple groups for both guys and girls that meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 6:15 – 7:15pm. Interested youth (or adults interested in facilitating a small group) should contact Nate and we’ll try to get you connected ASAP.
W.H.A.T.’s Up! – Our goal is to provide a quality after-school hang-out for 7th-12th Graders. We have the Youth Rooms open on Wednesdays from 3:00–5:00pm. There’s a Game Room with air hockey, fuse ball, ping pong, pool, a Nintendo Wii, stereo, and more! Snacks and drinks are available (all proceeds to Youth for Missions). We also provide places to do homework, hang friends, chill with some youth leaders... and there’s even a prayer corner for a little peace in the midst of our often chaotic weeks.
Other Activities – Youth Council (student leadership team for 9-12th graders); mission, service, and outreach ventures; Youth Sundays (Fifth Sundays in Praise Worship and a garden service); Bible School (for 6-8th graders).
TLC Youth Ministry Team (and adult volunteers) – To do the things mentioned above we need friendly, God-loving people willing to partner with us in pouring their lives into our young people. We make an effort to empower people from all walks of life – parents, college students, young marrieds, seniors – who are willing to offer themselves or their resources to work with, around, behind, and for the youth program. Please pray about how you might become involved and talk to Nate, if interested.
