In 1 Timothy 4:12, the Apostle Paul writes, "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for all believers."  At Trinity, we believe that young people should be a vital and active part of the church.  Our goal is to meet students where they are in life and to help them know Christ and grow in their love for God and the people around them!

 

At Trinity, we offer separate student ministries for middle and high school students.  All activities are designed with a purpose in mind, namely one of the following: worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, and outreach.  We recognize God's initiation of faith through baptism and seek to provide an environment in which our youth will confirm their faith as they become actively committed disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2KH Each fall around Labor Day, Trinity kicks off the new Sunday school year with a church-wide celebration called Rally Day.  We offer 2KH classes for both Jr. and Sr. High students.  They meet in the Youth Area (under Jack's Place) from 9:30-10:30am on Sunday mornings with the purpose of engaging in relational, relevant, and real-life issues that help us all get 2 Know Him.

  

The Ship Our Sunday evening youth gathering for High Schoolers is all about worship, fellowship, discipleship, servantship (we made that word up) and friendship.  We normally meet from 6:30-8:00pm in the high school youth room.  We offer a wide range of opportunities such as Bible studies, DVD series, Cafe 508 (a coffee house worship night), lots of service opportunities, group building activities, seasonal parties, gym & game nights, and more.  Throughout the year, we also offer many special events like a lock-in, a ski trip, concerts,  Youth Conferences, ELCA Youth Gatherings, inner city and rural mission trips, and more!

  

Catechism Sundays from 5:30-7:00pm, we offer a two-year Catechism program for 7^th and 8^th graders interested in Confirmation.  At Trinity, Catechism is a holistic approach to learning the faith.  It includes a walk through the Bible (7^th gr.), a study of Lutheran tradition (8^th gr.), and opportunities to participate in fellowship, service, and outreach.  Teaching sessions are taught by Pastor Mitchell, Pastor Jeff, and Nate Ediger.  Our TLC Youth Ministry Team provides opportunities to grow in faith through things like rake 'n run, visiting nursing homes, spring break service, fair day, bonfires, camp retreats, gym/game nights, a Super Bowl party, laser tag, canoeing, and more. 

 

Cross †raining This is all about discipleship for 9^th 12^th graders!  It's small groups; it's depth of commitment; and it's getting training in the way of the cross!  Currently, we have multiple groups for both guys and girls that meet various days and times of the week.  Any student interested in becoming a part of small group discipleship (or adults interested in facilitating a small group), should contact Nate and we'll try to hook you up ASAP.  

 

W.H.A.T.'s Up! This is all about discipleship for 7^th and 8^th graders!  We have the Youth Area open on Wednesdays from 3:00-5:15 pm. The Game Room is rockin' with air hockey, foosball, ping pong, pool, a Nintendo Wii, stereo, and more! Jack's Place isopen for an hour of dodgeball. Snacks and drinks are available (all proceeds to "Youth for Missions"). We also provide places to do homework, hang with friends, chill with some youth leaders... and there's a prayer corner for a little peace during the middle of your week. 

 

Other Activities Youth Council (student leadership team for 9-12^th graders); Bible Bowl (quiz teams for 6-12^th graders); Youth Sundays (Fifth Sundays in Praise Worship and a garden service); Bible School (for 6-8^th graders). 

 

TLC Youth Ministry Team (and adult volunteers) To do the things mentioned above, we need friendly, God-loving people willing to partner with us in pouring their lives into our young people.  We make an effort to empower people from all walks of life parents, college students, young families, seniors who are willing to offer themselves or their resources to work with, around, behind, and for the youth program.  Please pray about how you might become involved and talk to Nate if interested.
