Trinity Academy of Fine Arts

TAFA Programs

Private instruction is offered in voice, piano, and most instruments. Class offerings include Suzuki Strings, Early Childhood Music and a guitar class for beginners.

Suzuki Strings - For many years Ashland was home to an excellent Suzuki String program, which has been missed since Carol Pederson moved away. We are anxious to reestablish it through the Academy. This program led by Jane Reed is available to students age 5 and older. It includes weekly individual lessons, a monthly group lesson and an end of the semester recital.

Early Childhood Music - A continuation of a program we have offered before, ECM includes weekly classes for children from 3 months to 3 years of age. Research has shown that early music activities positively impact whole child development in areas of cognitive, emotional, physical, spatial and literacy skills. AND IT IS FUN!  Led by instructor Pam Prezioso, this class offers a complete music program where both children and caregivers learn through music and movement.

Guitar Class for Beginners - Marty Kral leads this class for students, age 10 and above, interested in beginning the study of the guitar. Each student has a weekly class session including all of the basic elements of guitar playing.

We are looking forward to expanding the scope of the Academy as we gain experience. The goals and benefits of forming an Academy include outreach, development of participants’ musical and social skills, quality training for future church leaders, raising fine arts awareness in the general community, providing an avenue of service to the church and community, and providing overall structure and organization to various existing church programs.
