Music Groups 2008-09
FOR ADULTS AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
The Psalmist wrote, "Praise to the Lord! For it is good to
sing praises to our God..." (Psalm 147:1a) We invite you to blend
your voice or other musical talents with one of the choirs listed below,
so that we might join together in praise of God and in fellowship with each
other. Unless otherwise noted, Ron Marenchin (419-289-0459) directs the choirs, as well as other ensembles.
10:45 Choir sings September through June at the 10:45 a.m. Sanctuary service and at special evening services. Practices are Wednesdays from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. in the Choir Loft. Periodic social events are held. Child care is available.
Sonrise Singers sing the second and fourth Sundays from September through June at the 8:30 a.m. service. Only two practices a month, the first Sunday at 8 a.m. and the first Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Music Room. Child care available if requested.
Saturday Night Choir practices the second and third Saturdays each month, from September through June at 5 p.m., in the Music Room and then sings on the third Saturday at the 6:30 Saturday Night Folk Service. Children are also welcome to join their families in song, September through June at 7 p.m., in the Music Room. Childcare is available, if requested.
Praise Team meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. in the Worship Center at Jack's Place to prepare for 10:45 a.m. Praise Worship. Instrumentalists as well as vocalists are needed. The director is Dave Wolbert (419-289-7193).
Trinity Bell Choir, for experienced ringers, meets Wednesdays from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. in Luther Hall. The choir rings once a month at Sunday services from September through June and at other special services. The director is Kathleen Wendling (419-289-0788).
TLC Belles, a handbell ensemble for women, practices Mondays at 6 p.m. and plays for senior citizen homes and other groups as well as worship. The director is Kathleen Wendling (419-289-0788).
Trinity Brass meets every Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. in the Music Room. This group is organized to give former band members a chance to haul the old trumpets, horns, and trombones out of the closets. We also have a few instruments that may be borrowed by interested folk. Junior and Senior High students are welcome as well. The ensemble plays at various services throughout the year for summer outdoor garden services and at special events.
Saturday Night Musicians practice Wednesdays, at 5 p.m. and Saturdays, at 6 p.m. each week. Instruments include piano, bass, guitar, banjo, keyboard, drums, violin, saxophone, and vocals. Contact Pastor Mitchell for more information (419-289-2126).
Men's Chorus & Women's Chorus meet selected days throughout the year to prepare special anthems. The Men's director is Pastor Bob Pflueger. (419-289-2126) The Women's Director is Dee Pinkley. (419-685-4112)
Special Groups practice prior to each performance. These special groups include The Trinity Singers, Sonrise Ensemble, the Christmas Musical Chorus and Orchestra, String Ensemble, Gloryland Band, Men's Quartets, Women's Trio, and others. Please contact Ron Marenchin for more information.
