We're pleased to welcome the Beacon After School Program throughout the week . This ministry began several years ago here at Trinity and currently serves over forty children in grades K-4 from the Ashland City Schools. Our teachers share the love of Christ as they help with homework, tell Bible stories, and lead many exciting activities. If you'd like to learn more about this ministry, please contact Dawn Forbes at dawn(at)trinityashland.org or 419-289-2126.
Our Mission Statement
- While Trinity Lutheran Church is a traditional Lutheran parish with traditional Lutheran worship, our ministry does not stop there. We believe that doing for others in our community is also our mission as a congregation. Jesus tells us to "go and do".
- We strive to reach children who meet several criteria, who might otherwise fall throught the cracks, helping them gain the tools to succeed and build self-esteem.
- These elementary-aged children from the Ashland City Schools are referred to us by the schools' liaisons.
- Our curriculum will include Bible lessons, crafts, recreation, homework time, outreach, special guests, and a healthy snack in a safe and loving environment.
- We will help guide each child's moral compass in a loving and Christian manner.
Andrea White, Director

Hi, my name is Andrea White and I became the new Director of the Beacon Program starting November 29, 2011. I know the students were sad to see Amie Spieldenner leave, but I am extremely excited about this position. I grew up in Ashland, went to Youngstown State University and received my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education in 2006. After college I moved back to Ashland and received a teaching position. I was a teacher at Osborn School from 2006 to 2011. This year I decided to stay home during the day to raise my two sons, Parker who is almost two years old and Hunter who is three months old. My husband is Peter White, the 7th grade Art teacher at Ashland Middle School. I am excited about being the new director of the Beacon Program. I am anxious to share my love for Jesus and my teaching knowledge.
I have many new ideas for the program and I am eager to share them with the Beacon children.
